About our involvement with Utiq
We, [TELCO], work with Utiq SA/NV, a European based company that provides the Utiq technology.
We help power the technology, which consists of online identifiers that can be used by digital properties (such as websites or apps) to support and optimise digital advertising and analytics activities. It is also designed with privacy in mind, to provide you with enhanced transparency, choice and control over its use.
The technology is off by default and only works when you use a supported internet connection and you consent to its activation on the digital properties. If you consent, our role is to provide Utiq with an online identifier (the “Network Signal”). We generate this identifier using your IP address and a reference to the telecom account associated with the internet connection used, such as telecom account number or mobile number, without sharing any other personal data about you. We do this as independent controllers. Utiq then uses this Network Signal to create additional marketing identifiers which are provided to the participating digital properties.
[[In addition to the above, we also make use of the Utiq technology in our own digital property(ies). In this case, if you give consent in our digital property(ies), Utiq will generate specific Utiq marketing identifiers for us, as they do for other digital properties, which we can use to support our own digital marketing and analytics activities. We use the Utiq technology separately from our role as Network Signal provider. This means that being a Network Signal provider does not give us any extra information that affects how we use the Utiq technology in our own digital property(ies).]]
You can withdraw all Utiq consents at once via a dedicated privacy portal (“consenthub”) or individually on each property via the dedicated “Manage Utiq” settings (typically found alongside to the properties’ privacy settings). If you use a different connection, you will need to manage your consents for each connection separately.
You can find all the relevant information about the Utiq technology and how to exercise your data protection rights in Utiq’s Privacy Statement and how we work with Utiq, which internet connections are supported and what personal data we process here.
